System-Wide COOP Overhaul for a Regional Hospital Network
Challenge
A 6-hospital network operating under a legacy continuity plan last updated in 2018 faced a state accreditation review with significant gaps in their COOP documentation, BIA methodology, and supply chain resilience protocols.
Approach
Conducted a full Business Impact Analysis across all six facilities, mapped critical functions to recovery time objectives, and rebuilt the COOP framework from the ground up — aligned to NFPA 1600 and The Joint Commission standards.
Outcomes
- Passed state accreditation review with zero continuity-related findings
- Reduced documented RTO for critical clinical operations from 72 hours to 18 hours
- Delivered a 3-year maintenance roadmap with tabletop exercise schedule
